Default Transmission Noise

Sup? I am a new member here, I have an 07 ZX6 and LOVE IT. but anyway, the bike only has around 400 miles on it, but i went riding with a friend through the Mountains here and put the bike through some pretty intense curvage. but never really killed the RPMS. Now coming home on the highway i noticed a noise when I would let off the throttle, not pinging or metal on metal but more like something skipping, no loss of power or anything like that. Sorry if i didnt explain very well, but Thats all i can really say. anyone know what the sound may be? Thanks in advance

You could be hearing popping in the exhaust from downshifting (Lean misfire). You can do the KLEEN Air mod later. It also could be your slipper clutch releasing if you're downshifting and shutting off the throttle hard but I don't think it's that. Also, Change your oil; it's time.

Let's keep it simple here. new bike. probably nothing wrong. Did you check your chain? the initial stretch is substantial. Especially if it's the O/E P.O.S.

Yes, good idea; check the chain and if it stil does it, may be it's the popping on deceleration. These bikes do that a lot.

Wow! Must have been pretty Loose to be skipping! And with only 400 miles? They must not have adjusted it correctly during the bike setup. Great you figured it out. See, sometimes it's just that simple.
