i have a 2004 zx6r and very rarely but it still happens and i would like to know if it is rider error or i need to get it checked out i will go to shift and either it doesnt go the shifter moves up but it doesnt shift or i will click up and it will be like it is in neutral but i am not i am in between lets say 3 and 4 gear. the bike has 4000 miles dont know if that makes a difference

 

First adjust & lube your chain. These bikes seem to be finicky when shifting if the chain is loose. Second; try adjusting the shift lever down a little so when you shift up, it puts more pressure and egages in the next gear fully.

 

Factory Pro Shift Star kit should help out if you do have a minor problem, even if it is poor technique. If your trans is in good shape, it will help keep it that way.
