that seems a little odd cause my friends 02 zx9r thats bored to 1100 took his up to almost 190 actual speed. 185 seems a little high for your bike. but its probably not actual speed so then it does kinda seem right cause youd be in the 165-175mph range. where you going off of the goofy stock speedo or did you get it re calibrated?

Well, if you've read my post in the new members section, you will know that I am a straight dirt rider. I jus got my bike about 4 weeks ago and jus recently got past the break in mark. I was late to school and took off about 10 minutes before calss began, the problem was that it was the first day and I couldnt **** off the professor the first day. Anyway, long story short, I took off and hit the freeway not even paying attention to the speedo. About halfway there I look down to check my clock and see 128 on the dial. Holy S#@*!!! I was amazed, besides the wind, it was so smooth and graceful. Now I know it was a good way to get killed, especially with my experience on a streetbike, but damn..... it didnt even feel like I was moving so fast. Well anyway... theres my story...

 

anyone ever seen the vids of "ghost rider" doin wheelies on his 499hp busa at 185 mph? sorry to change the subject, but that guy is absoutely insane

 

On the way to work at 245am and had the freeway to myself. Got it up to 160mph. Thats what the speedo said atleast, not sure what the actual mph was. Thats still fast enough for me

 

I've seen 155 on the speedo with plenty of room left. Bike is bone stock.

 

180 on the speedo, after a lil math came out to be 155 mph actual... my speedo is off by a ratio of 1.156

 

After braking mine in....I got up to 157 and the shift light turned on and I was at six gear....so I backed off...but two days later ...I was on my way to school on a back road in MN and I got it to 167 light turned on again...but i kept pushing it...so I go to 167 so far. I was an awsome feeling. isn't it? Almost better than jumping out of airplanes at 35,000 feet....( Ex military U.S. Army Special forces) SO I want to take the bike till I can't no more. Any one knows what is up with the light? why does it turn on.

But two motnhs ago I was practicing some stunts.. and dropped my bike pretty bad. Seperated my shoulder, fracture my ankle, and got road rash from hell. Bike was totaly F.u%^d... But I got the insurance to fix it for me. (it looks brand new by the way, guy did pretty good work on it).. and even though my shoulder is still some what seperated I am back on it. Before I have to put it away for the winter. I will try it again next spring. Well thought I share my story. [IMG][/IMG]

 

Had it up to 160 on the spedo but i'm not sure how off my spedo is so ill give it 10mph and say 150.

 

Dont know if it helps, but going down Rt 101 in NH the rev limiter light was flashing (only reason i looked down, going that fast i just stare at road) i saw 180 mph... then i let off. i know i wasnt going that fast due to actual speed ratio... but thats where ive seen mine at...
