Whats the fastest you all have gone on your bike so far? Anyone know what the top speed is on 05's?

My bikes still being broken in... just curious....

hey, I have an '04 636. I put aluminum sprocket on the rear with a +3 tooth count. Fiberglass body kit, Velocity stacks, Micron slip-on, and a PC3USB. Haven't got it all the way there, but 5th gear for me is 151, and the most in 6th gear is 159 ( with 3000rpm to go ) My estimate with all that I have done is about 164-169. They say that a stock '04 636 shoould do 174-176mph.

 

kawiben, remember tho, the speedo is off from the factory, and with you changing the sprockets its really gonne be off. Ive done 178mph on my speedo but if im not mistaking thats only 155..? cant remember exact numbers,

 

Well, stock '05 ZZR600... Still breaking it in (trying to be good, less than 150 miles left till I hit 1000), so my top-speed so far is 80.5 as measured by my GPS... First time I hit the freeway I thought DAMN, that's FAST... but I guess I'm getting used to it now, I feel a lot more comfortable, and it doesn't seem nearly as fast. I'm surprised how rock-solid this thing is at that speed.

 

About breaking in....

it says not to take above 4k for the first 500 miles....then not past 6k for the 500-1000 marker...but, when I ride to work I have to take the highway...so I need to be atleast 60-65mph which puts me at 6k i believe, and im only at 480miles or so....when I leave a light, or am driving around w/ lights i dont take it past 4k.....should I worry about this? I mean its not like I've raped it or anything.....I did go a lil faster once, in 6th but I took my time and not just revved it up there.....

 

i have an 05 636. i've done about 145. i still had alot on the tach to go, but i didn't want to push my luck. oh the bike is still pretty much bome stock except for the pro. D.I.D. chain. lol

 

I know it's not much next to you big guys or gals, but I hit 135mph on my first day on my 636! I was having fun!

 

so you skipped break-in period?
