Default tires and spark plugs

okay i was wondering about replacing a rear tire...could i just take of the rear wheel then take all the air out...and take it off put on a new one...and then put air in it and put it back on or is there anything more i have to do????

another question...with spark plugs..now i know u have to remove the gas tank...the air box...ignition coils...i was wondering what are the procedures to removing the gas tank...should i do it when it is almost empty??? or does it matter??? i know to place towels underneath and maybe even a garbage bag to keep any and all escaping gasoline from coming out...is there anything else i need to know to remove gas tank??? are the hoses quick disconnect or something????

For the tire you would want to make sure it gets balanced before installing it on your bike. A lot of places will mount and balance a new tire for you for under $35 bucks off the bike.

As far as the Gas tank...
with my 7R I just turn the petcock to off and disconntect the hoses and I do not get any gas leaking.

Of course I do not know what kind of bike you have so everything I just said is from my own experience with my bike.

i don't have the luxury to have a petcock so i just hope they are quick disconnect hosing...i think i might as well take the tires off and have them do it for like 26 bucks...they told me with it on the bike it will be 166 bucks!!!

not to include the fact that i am either getting a set of 2ct or diablo corsa iii!!!

I know if it's fuel injected you have to disconnect the pump and than start the bike. and let it run till it stops (to release the pressure. Shouldn't take too long.) On my 03 ZX6R, to remove the gas line,it had a little plastic peice that you pinched and than pulled the hose off.

If the bike hasn't ran for a few hours, there may not be any pressure in the lines but disconnecting the fuel pump electrical plug to make sure is better. Get some NGKCR9EK plugs. For Tires, I'd go with the PP 2CT's.

holy crack pipe batman. you should check out the internet for tires. ridenow.com you can get a set pp's for around 230-240 dollars. and to change your plugs you dont have to remove your tank. ill tell you how, remove your front tank bolt, remove the seat, lift the front of your tank and prop it with some good and sturdy, loosing the two allen head bolts that hold the airbox on the bottom and the front bolt where the airbox bolts to the frame, then lift off the air box, also you might have to disconnect a hose or two from the air box, voila your plugs are right there under some black rubber. just make sure your prop up your tank good, i always use a bungee cord, hook one end in the hole where tank bolts up and the other end of the cord i hook up on the ceiling in my garage. be creative or do extra work by taking off the whole tank.

I just replaced the plugs in mine today. NGK CR9E is what I took out so I put the same back in..did the same procedure as candy suggested... I bungy cord the tank back, the gas light was on so it didn't have much in it, but I've done it with more. Why create more work for yourself by removing the whole tank when you can prop it back?

Get NGK CR9EK plugs from O'reilly Auto Parts for $5.49 each instead of $7+ each at bike shops. The cross reference numerical part number is: 4548
