pro comp x terrains 37's i ordered a set of pilots, for 235.00 to my door. im banking off your werd ns.
235 is a good price, where are they comming from. You will not be disapointed in the performance.

Now why would a track day school recommend running such low tire pressure. Where I race, they recommend just OVER the factory settings. I run 42 in the rear, 36 up front on stock BT014's. The science behind the high pressure is that it makes the tire more round as it pushes the center of the tire out more with more pressure. This rounder geometery of the tire makes swinging from side to side much faster and much easier. It is very noticeable. The lower pressure gives you more contact patch for braking traction, but slows the flickability of your bike. The lower the pressure the flatter the contact patch. You ever try corning a street bike with flat tires like a car? With pure race compound tires, the contact patch is not critical so they run high pressures.

You are running a street tire at race conditions that is probably the reason for the high pressure. The Pilot Race is a race tire not a dot street tire and the pressure recommendations did not come from the race school but from the tire manufacture at the track. He is there for advice and of course tire replacement.

Those pressures were recommended by the Tire guy at the trackday. It was hot that day and different track conditions, surfaces & temperatures have different recommended pressures. The pressures I ran worked really good for me.
