the time has come for a rear tire. i have a michelin pilot power on the bike, it was a race takeoff, when i bought the bike if was kinda wore already, but i ended up flat spoting it pretty bad on the interstate. so im looking for a rear budget performance tire. im tight on cash but i cant ride till i get a good tire. so please dont laugh but i have a brand new shinko raven on the front and i was wonder should or is the shinko a good idea for the rear. my driving style is not really aggressive as in leaning, i dont hit the twisties hard, just an average rider i guess, but i love the triple digits , so what tire should i go with , please comment only if you have experience with a certain tire, thanks ninja riders

dragon is making a good point it always good to stick with the same tread pattern front and rear. And I have to also say that the Pilot Powers have worked best for me too. My husband did recently switch to the Shinko Drag tire in Ultra soft compound...but thats for drag racing not normal wear and tear. He also really likes the pilot powers he hated his Qualifier for the the road, he complained it never warmed up.

next time i will get a set but i already had a brand new front tire on there so i dont really wanna change it the shinko font handles good enough for me, i havent ran into any problem , but ill prolly get the michelins, i already have the michelin pilot power race on there now and it still grips and it bald as hell, but its not safe and i dont wanna have a blow out. if i didnt have a brand new front tire on there i would get the set. thanks for everyones help.

Shinko is fine for normal stuff.You can hit the twisties with them too. If the front is ne, just buy a rear. You usually go thru 2 rears before needing a front anyway. You can get them cheap on ebay.

When i first got my bike the prev owner have a metzler M1 on the front and a race take off super corsa pro on the rear. On rough pavment the tires felt like the tracked the bumps diffrently and made me feel not so comfortable on the bike and the super corsa pro took a really long time to heat up. I would agree with every one else in saying if you can try to keep to the same brand tires front and rear.

I just replaced the original tires on my 06 with about 6k on them. I got them from http://www.tiresunlimited.com. The match the original. They were great tires.

Anyone have experience with the Pirelli Diablo Supersports? Cyclegear has those puppies going for $160 for the set. The price is sick, but is the tire any good?
This is being asked by Mr. Commuter bike here, so street performance (warm up & traction, i don't mind if they go out quick if it means great grip) over track

The Pirellis rated good and are great at a great price for the street & trackdays too. If the stock tires are good for the track, the aftermarket ones are as good or better. I do love & am impressed withthe stock BT014RBridgestones performance and they (Bridgestone)are the best tires in MotoGP!
