Default Those 2007 ZX-6R With Loud Valve Trains

Their has been discussions on other forums regarding how loud some of the 2007 ZX-6R valve trains are and some have even reported failures.

I decided to call Kawi to get to the bottom of this. According to Kawi USA here is the low down.

Yes Kawi is seeing issues with the 2007 ZX-6R valve trains.

The symptom is a louder than normal valve train to the point you can hear it over the exhaust at around 5000 RPM.

If left unresolved the bike will drop or eat a valve.

Kawi will warranty the fix 100% and they said if your dealer is not helping go to another dealer.

Now for the down side the cams are on back order so expect a least a 2-3 week wait on parts and the entire head must be removed and dissembled.

I've heard of problems with the new ZZr600's and the frame where the intakes going into cracking. I saw one guy with it. Both sides were cracking. The dealder didn't want to do the warrenty work because he had a crash cage on the bike.

Sorry folks that is all I know.

Like I said their is no tech bulletin or recall. They are only fixing bikes that the customer has the dealer bring forward to Kawi customer service or ones that fail.

Kawi would not go into detail on what the issues are but the fix requires cams and valves at a minimum.

I am taking my bike to the dealer to have them listen and get this documented as I do not want to be assed out when it drops a valve a few months from now. My dealer was unaware of the issue as well.

Personally this is bull****. Kawi should at the least issue a tech bulletin so the dealers know to keep and eye out for this and not send folks away saying Kawi's have loud valve trains.

+1! Call Kawasaki directly and report the dealer. Have them call the dealer and schedule the warranty work. If not, everyone get together and consult an attorney. That is BS! If Kawasaki acknowledges the problem, the dealer (any Kawasaki Dealer) should fix it especially the one you bought the bike from. Sounds like some BS Crap Ford did with me.

I also have a friend racing a new 07 ZX6R and I'll ask him if he has had any problems. He's racing this weekend/ Now.
