ok heres the question. first, do you have a magnetic tank bag and how/where does it stick to being the front half of the tank is plastic on out bikes ?

 

ha ha ha when i got my tank bag i thought about the same thing.... mine is magnetic so i just set it on the gas tank part of it, and it holds up fine..... i don't how big your bag is, but mine is the standard size.....

 

its the icon primer pack. so its a smaller bag.

 

I use the Joe Rocket Manta bag. It is pretty small but big enough for an extra helmet visor. It has 3 magnets that are placed towards the back of the bag. I never ride without my tank bag and have never had any issues with it.

 

I just bought the same Joe Rocket Manta tankbag for $25 from a CUTIE in Garland, TX. Too bad she gave up riding. Only if I was single!

 

what about with the hyper pro damper on it. that things going to get in the way huh. crap i didnt even think about that.

 

I have the Icon Urban tank bag, it is kinda big, and the hyper pro as well. The bag does just fine upto at least 100, fast as I have gotten. It doesn't get any wind on the front, and the rear magnets hold it in place very well, and I just keep it about an inch from the damper with no problems.

 

cool, next variable is, i have a tank pad and from pics of the primer pack, one of the magnets is suppose to secure where the pad sits. this is the first ever tank bag i have bought and first bag im putting on one of my bikes ever. i really dont like tank bage but this one will come in usefull for a trip im planing.

4 out of my 6 magnets stick and then I have a quick release strap that goes around the triple clamp...was thinking about the gas cap mounted bags...one thing about the magnet bags - they scratch!!! my friends Icon bag tore up his tank on our London trip...on and off for the gas...

 

Mine is an 03 636 with a HyperPro and No problems with the Manta.
