Default Switching fairings? Need info please

I have a 97 zx6r and was wondering if its possible to switch out the front upper for a newer front such as an 2000 or newer? Also on the tail could I doa similar swap?

Have you checked the part numbers in kawi's fiche' yet? To see if they will cross over?

they are the same part numbers in kawi catalouge. i thought the headlights were different, but i guess not

I checked the link and it shows both years of front fairings being #55028. Does that imply that they would interchange? Because it also has a 55028A for the 97 and a 55028A~C for the 2000.

The headlight on the 97 is a single and the 2000 has a double, but they may be shaped the same just different headlight placement.

Normally, that last letters are a color code Dsmith50

That's what I figured, if that is correct then all front fairings are compatable up through 2007 will fit. If that's true, I might as well make it look as new as possible(it's already immaculate, but I want a newer look).

Mind you, I have not tried this so be thorough. But the numbers are matching. Just like the 05MC off of a 636 matches an 05 10r. Go figure!
