Hi everybody! I just bought a 2003 Green ZX-6R 636 and I have some questions.
I want to install a steering damper but I need to be recommended for price and quality. I saw there are two kind of steering damper, which one is the best? Or did they do both the job? One is adjustable and the other one is not is it the only difference? Dampers are universal or I have to buy one that it was made for the 636 or I need anykind with the good adaptator for the 636.

My bike has a lower kit on it. The suspension as been dropped about 2 inches. I'm asking myself if it's recommended or not because it changes the way the bike was made... Like, I mean if the bike is lower can it be dangerous for acceleration or something else, if the bike as a lower suspension is it affects something bad on the 636 or there's no problem at all?
Also I asked myself if there was a difference between the 636 2003 and the 2004. I know that's the same model but sometimes they change little aspect on the body or they improve the year after.
I am searching for the big websites of Kawa parts and accessories.
I found those one:
http://www.babbittsonline.com
http://www.xdcycle.com
I would like to know other good website if you guys knows.
Thank you very much for answering! By the way I'm French so my English isn't perfect as my French :P
Guillaume.

I had a HyperPro RSC on my 03 636 and liked it. It was a linear damper. The Ohlins & GPR are rotary but do the same function. It's up to what design you like. Most Stunt riders like the GPR because it doesn't stick out like the linear dampers. Wilbers makes the HyperPro's in Europe I believe. Try ebay for parts. The 03-04 636 are 98% the same bike and use the same parts.

www.bikebandit.com is a good site to compare part numbers and compatability. i prefer the linear style dampers compared to the rotary myself but i guess its just prefrence. the hyperpro rsc is a nice set up.

Is there an easy way to explain me what's the big difference between linear and rotary. It's just a question of taste? It's doing the same same thing? What is recommanded for a ZX-6 636 2004? Both are doing power steering job too? Can you change the level of strengh of the linear? Or it's only the rotary one.
I have read on wikipedia but they don't really explain de difference.

take for instance the hyper pro rsc. you can adjust it on the fly to whatever setting you like, but as your riding, the damper self adjusts to the conditions. a scoots rotary damper may be adjustable but its not active like the hyper pro. so, if you set it to stiff, it will stay stiff no matter what the conditions are. the big difference is this....
linear style

not sure what you mean by daily bike thing but any damper will work for you, some work better than others. just get a hyper pro rsc and youll be good to go from the streets to the track.
