i have felt a sd on an 03. anyone out there with the 05 up have one. did it make a big difference in the handling of the bike. dont get any real headshake or anything stupid with mine. and was it worth the time,money, and trouble. thanks for the info

Depends on how you ride but if you ride agreesively at all I'd say get one. I got the Scotts (made w/Ohlins) damper; low and high speed dampening. Its great especially now that i'm running Michelin Power Race tires, things got a little more exciting. Start with the lower settings and work your way up, if its too stiff, it'll be harder to put in quick hard turning imputs. I learned this the hard way when my timing was off. Once I got it set right, really great stuff.

only got about 1800 miles on her so i am still on stock rubber. yuk!! but i am still fairly aggresive with it. seemed to make a huge difference on my buddies 03. but dont feel much difference between his bike and mine in a corner now. just wondering if it was worth the money on the 05 set up

My last bike was a 02 gixxer 1k (sorry) and the 05 636 is much more squirly even in stock form. I changed the geometry of my bike to be a little more agressive and the tires also add some agressiveness and squirlyness. So yes definitely worth the money. I love the adjustablity of the scotts and add the ohlins name to it, you cant go wrong.

OK talked me in to that. twisted my arm. please let go. lol. now here you all go with the brand ****. i will take input but going to have to study on it for a day or two!

Pick one they are all great, but I like the scotts best

I really like my Hyperpro RSC on my 03. Also, the 05-06's are more stable that the 03-04's. I used to get headshakes when I accelerated, especially when still leaned overa little and the front wheel coming up; it would shake when it touched down. Twice it scared the crap out of me so as soon as I got home, I got on ebay and started bidding for one. I haven't had a headshake since I put it on, even when i was going 161 the other night and the bike got airborne a couple of times.
