Default !st sport bike

Hi I am new here. I am about to buy A 1991 zx6 and was wondering if I could get some opinions on the bike. I know it is not as big and powerful as the newer ones but I am getting it for the price of gas to go and pick it up so I cant refuse it. Also would anyone know some web sites that sell parts and plastics for it. I am haveing trouble tring to find them cause the bike is a 91. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brady

Welcome to the fourms. And that bike your getting sounds like a deal to me. It should be a good thing. There's a bunch of sites out there. Check out www.speedwerks.com they might have some plastic for it.

Dont let the fact that you have a 91 bother you any sportsbike is a good bike as for parts dont worry you will find parts on the bike on the internet thats a given one thing that i learned is you cant keep up with the jones or in other words changing times i have a 99 KAW ZXR 750 and i love it dont get it twisted i wanted a 05 or 06 but you have to look at if you get jump right out the poss. is you could down it trust me thats a hard feeling and by the time you get that 06 it would be 2008 the way the years is moving for me i say get the bike ride it love and by the time 1 or 2 years has passed trade it in get another

My first bike was a 1991 Ninja ZX-6. In my opinion, it was the best bike I had ever owned until now with my new 636.
It has very modern looks for 91 and was the 600cc class leader 4 years in a row 89-92. Mine was black and gray. I will miss the center kickstand and the dual exhuast. If you do buy it, I would highly recommend twin Jardine slip-ons. They sounded unbeleivable and were a great deal. I ran Dunlop D205's and D208 GP after they stopped making the 205's. The bike was very comfortable with 1 or 2 people and was just a perfect bike. As far as power, that bike was damn fast above 8000 rpms, just keep it in low gears and it will take you for a ride. I hit 141mph (speedometer) on it and it was incredible stable at high speeds. The trick is to get a carburetor synchronizer and do it every couple of months. That made a world of difference in throttle response.

Here is a picture of it. Notice how awesome the twin Jardine RT-ONE slip-ons look.

Good Luck!

That's looks just like the 1992 zx6 I just traded in for my 06 636. Yea, it 's not bowed up like the newer ones but I loved that bike. I rode it for almost 8 years. It can go 155 mph or better and is very quick. The riding position is a little more upright and the sheild provides a little more cover from the air pressure. I'm having to really adjust my riding position on my 636 at high speeds to keep my helmet from lifting up and bouncing. I never had that problem on my 92. I'm sure the more I ride my new bike I'll get adusted to it. Also, the seat height is a couple of inches lower so it feels like a smaller bike but it's a four cylinder so don't be fooled. Be Safe.....
