sprocket question

Default sprocket question

looking for more torque in my 07 zx6r and heard that changing out the rear sprocket can help that a great deal. whut is sotck for number of teeth and is this evn true? anything will help. thanks

There are a few riders in KF with that ride. They should be able to help ya on that question. Also the factory manual will list the chain and sizes of the CS and of the rear sprocket. Welcome to KF

95451, could you feel the difference in 47 and whut size chain did you have to get goin up that high? and did it suck anything from the top end?

I Have a ZX7
Stock Front & Rear Was 16/46. I Only Went Up 1
On The Rear. Same Size Chain.

oem sprockets for the 07-08 zx6r is 16t for the front & 43t for the rear, i would go down one tooth on the front & see if you like that, that should give you that added torque your lookin for man, also your bike came factory with 520 sprockets

Most people I know go -1 up front and +2 out back. You keep the same chain length and get a bunch more torque. You're top end will decrease a bit but nothing major. Put a 60 tooth on the rear and you will top out at 90mph lol.

I'm pretty sure that the '07's chain is a .520 so going to a wider chain isn't necessary.
