I would not go anything past -1+2. The only reason you would want to go past that is for doing wheelies. Even at -1+2 you will feel the front end wanting to come up. Have fun with it though.

I am getting ready to put a new chain and replace the sprockets. Every one i talked to said the same thing -1+2. My question is with the stock gearing on my bike 04 zx6r 636. In first hard on the throttle at about 8k the front starts to lift and same thing in 2nd at about 10k the front start lifting again. If i change the gearing from what i understand in stead of lifting at 8k in 1st it will start lifting sooner if im hard on the throttle. Any one here have experince with -1+2 on a 03-04 zx6r? I just don't want the front end coming up too easy.

Rpm's should remain the same but you will get there quicker.

Try to put more wait forward on your hard acceleration to help keep that front down longer and thus making you faster. Nothing wrong with a little wheel rise on hard acceleration just have to keep it under control or you will end up going slower rather then faster.

I agree with that. But, where does that leave you on the other 10 corners lets say? Let alone a long straight or two? Wheelspin on a few, lack of top end on the straights maybe. Tune to what you ride with and at what times. A certain number is but just a general category and is just a basis to go by. It is up to the rider to know and understand their ride to determine anything other than that. Maybe on the street, a -1, +2 works great. It could be a good baseline. I am thinking that hey, I am still in 5th gear with a plus 2 rear at 160, heck, I still have 6th yet if needed and still in the rpm ranges. Nobody says that you have to play corners and sacrifice top end. Tune for your ride and the surface to be met.

speeds listed are only for general purposes and are closed course only.

When you change your gearing your speedo will be off by a certain % speed slow or fast are affected evenly.

Mine was off by 11 or 12% before I calibrated it with the speedo healer.
