Default something is wrong with me...

Hi yall, new to the forum. I went to my local kawi dealership to buy a 650r, end up coming home on a zx6r 08, and it yellow. Been riding the 250r 07 for about a year. Finally upgraded to a 600 cc bike. Any advice on riding or maintain will be greatly appreciated.

just be a little careful with the throttle, i'm sure you've noticed there is quite a difference between the 250 and 600. nice bike, and welcome to the forum don't forget to properly break in your bike, it's a bit of a pain drivin around like an old lady the first 1000 kms or so but i'm sure it's worth it.

the throttle respond is pretty awesome comparing to my 07 250r. i love this bike. i'm gonna try to break this bike in properly according to the manual. manage to only put 17miles on it so far, 983miles to go, to complete the break in process. it so damn hot in north texas, the temp is round 100+ for the past couple of weeks. want to put more mileage on the bike, but the weather is not on my side, so freaking hot. i think i made the right choice buying this bike instead of the 650r. thank for the advice yall.

The only thing I can think of is change your oil after the first 500 miles and then change it again every 1000 to 1500 miles after that. Congrats on the purchase!

I would change the oil even sooner (at 100-150 miles) and after don't follow the RPM liit for break-in exactly. You can take it up to 14K momentarily in short bursts while accelerating. Just remember to vary the RPM's and not keep it constant all the time. But MAKE SURE to Change the oil with some regular good stuff like Valvoline or better conventional oil. At 2500 miles, I recomment switching to Full Synthetic. This is how I have done i and everyone has their ow break-in ideas/ suggestions. A good website is www.mototuneusa.com on break-in and other hi-performance tricks & ideas.

ok i agree with speed, change the oil mroe often than it is recommended.

however, i dont agree with the breakin at all. ride like you think you will eventually ride it. you need to seet the piston rings and following the recommded breakin period does not accomplish that.

the dealership cannot prove that you didnt follow the break in so it is still under warr.

thank for all the advice. i will definitely be changing my engine oil at around 150-200miles with synthetic oil. i will mods this bike later when i complete the breaking in process. update barely got 87miles on the odometer. gonna do some serious riding this weekend hopefully i will put a hundred+ miles on the odometer. this bike is extremely street friendly. shifting is very smooth.

when you ride sport bike why do people all way assume you ride unsafely and breaking the laws on public road?
