Should i consider this bike

RE: Should i consider this bike
lol no offence but i know mines better. its a 72 firebird. ive had it since i was 15 so for a good 3 years. almost 4. i did all the work myself on it cause the first weak i had it i blew the motor so i put a chevy 350/350 combo in it. it needs some paint and bodywork but its loud and fast. and it costs me a fortune to run. it only gets 12mpg and when i floor it you can see the gas gauge just start to drain down. but i wouldnt trade it for anything

Sweet! I do love the the body styling of the 70's. I know what you mean about not wanting to trade it for anything! I'd never trade mine, too many good memories tied up in that car. Someday I'd like to restore a 69 (preferably convertible).

i like the 67/68s better but the bad thing is with the way the muscle car market is right now just a rusted up pos 67/68 or 69 will cost someone like 6gs and thats for a body with no engine or tranny. i was lucky and got mine for real cheap, it was a steal. 1300 and it ran at the time i bought it but had a shot rod bearing. which is way i blew the motor. i sent two rods through the oil pan and there was metal shards even all the wasy under the intake manifold.

You're telling me about the muscle car market - you've got to check these out http://www.canadatrader.com/result/r...&type=province
That is what is in Canada at the moment in the Auto Trader (they all look to be in pretty decent shape though)
Wow, you sure did a good job blowing that one up! My ex did the same thing with his camaro.

Wow, thats crazy! 3 'birds all on one site thats not for F-Bodies. Of course, mine technically isn't a 'bird, in '82 they were titled from Pontiac as a Trans Am without the Firebird in front of it. Are either of you folk's current f-bodies your first? Mine's my second, with my first being a '96 Z-28 LT1, t-tops, 3.42 posi rear, 4l60e trans, power everything. and only 9000 miles when I got it in 2000.

RE: Should i consider this bike
Yea its my first f body and first car ever. but i called up on that bike the other day only to hear the disappointing words "sold that thing yesterday" but its ok thats life for ya. i still got time and money so im sure something will fall into my lap. just hope i can find a good deal like that again but this time maybe be a little quicker to ****** it up. if anyone is in the sacramento area and knows some decent bikes for sale for under 2000 to get me going pm me or something. basicly ill take anything. but id prefer a 600. dont matter if its a cbr, gsxr, or ninja. just something cheap thatll last me half a year till i get a 636. i really wouldnt mind a cbr f1 or f2. or even a first gen gsxr. those late 80s early 90s gixxers look pretty cool and retro. im so tired of working though i want to hurry up and get some work done to my car and get my bike so i can spend more time having fun working part time then working 40 hours a week trying to save for everything
