SHOOTOUT OF THE MIDDLEWEIGHTS
OUR 636 FINISHED LAST IN THE MIDDLEWEIGHT SHOOTOUT ON THE TRACK AND NEXT TO LAST ON THE STREET TEST. THEY PICKED THE GSXR-600 THE OVERALL BEST BIKE. I REALLY DON'T GET IT. MY BIKE IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR A BMC AIR FILTER AND I RUN REAL CLOSE TO THE 750'S. MAKES ME SCEPTICAL OF THE TEST RIDERS THEY USED. ANY MORE OPINIONS ON THE SUBJECT.

RE: SHOOTOUT OF THE MIDDLEWEIGHTS
I've read a couple "600s shootout" articles. We need to understand that our bike in an "old" design (2005) and that it is always easier to improve a bike when you have a reference. That is what Kawazaki was for Yamaha and Suzuki. Add to that the amount of promo and $$$ they put into launching their new bikes; that does affect the magazine's "neutrality".
In any case, all test rider concided in that the difference between the 600s is so immaterial that no street rider would be ever able to notice it. Can you really tell the difference between a 3:00 and a 2:95 0-60 bike? You would have to be a pro with a more than perfect start to make anything of the advantage. What about a 108 HP vs. a 109HP bike?
So.... relax and enjoy the bike.

ANYBODY INTERESTED IN READING THE ARTICLE IT'S IN SPORT RIDER MAGAZINE. AND I DO ENJOY MY BIKE I'VE PUT OVER 14,000 MILES ON MINE SINCE MAY OF 05. NOBODY CAN CHANGE MY OPINION ABOUT MY BIKE BECAUSE I UNDERSTAND JUST HOW GOOD IT REALLY IS. I AGREE THAT THE DIFFERENCES ARE MINIMAL BETWEEN BRANDS, BUT I DO FEEL THAT MODS ARE NEEDED TO MAKE THE OTHER BRANDS BETTER WHERE AS MY 636 BEEN GREAT RIGHT OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR.

RE: SHOOTOUT OF THE MIDDLEWEIGHTS
I read Sport Rider and feel that they're unbiased about thing they write and the bikes they test. I love my bike but it can't be the King forever. It just the way this industry is and I am glad. It forces the manufacturers to improve the product. Now Kawasaki will have to outdo Suzuki and Yamaha. It's a race and we get to enjoy the end products. Like Lee Iacoca once said; "Either Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way!"

RE: SHOOTOUT OF THE MIDDLEWEIGHTS
yeah in superbike are bike came in last and the triumph in first which i was expecting. also are bike is great for track riding and street riding but some people feel its too heavy and bulky which it is but its way more stream lined then all the other bikes. that why are screens are lower and we have a under seat exhaust kawasaki is all about the wind tunnle and going faster. i kick the **** out of any 600 out there and i think i handles way better than most 600's out there. the only bike i think is alittle better in the handling department is the gsxr because its lighter slimer, but it doesnt have the power of are bike. but i dont care i love my kawi and i will ride it till i die.
