scuffed sides

Default scuffed sides

new to the forum just seeing if anyone has any tips for scuffing in new tires. ive had them on for about 30 miles and ive been real conservative into turns being that i dumped it a few weeks ago going too hard into a turn. i cant get anything but the center patch scrubbed. any tips?

You are in an area that could be vast for that question. What tires, what pressures, what suspension settings, what.......ya get my drift?

yea im runnin 36 psi on some dunlop sportmax qualifiers. the suspension is completely stock on a 07 zzr 600.

i just go for a ride. not real fast but lean it over in the turns.

30 miles??? The oils are still coming to the surface of the tires...you are supposed to ride conservatively the first 60 miles then lay into those corners...

If you're wanting to scrub in the sides, wait until the tires are broken in, which takes roughly 60 miles. Then just find some really curvey roads and go for broke.

Just remember... A good mantra for every time you get on your bike should be:

"the worst that could happen is I could crash and die a horrible fiery death, and my dead lifeless body get mutilated by other passing vehicles..."

Have fun hitting those corners (Get it? hit the corners... I crack me up sometimes: )
