Rough idle
whats up all?
I have a '06 zx6r and after i installed the new pipe and PCIII my bike lopes when she is cold. I think it sounds bad a$$. but after a little riding its all back to normal.
Does anyone know what causes this?
Is there any way to get my bike to idle like this all the time, other than a cam?

RE: Rough idle
Don't take me on my word, but if your bike's fuel injection systemuses an O2 sensor, there's a period of time the engine is still cold at start-up that the computer is operating in an "open loop" meaning the O2 sensor hasn't warmed up enough to close the loop and start sending it's information about the exhaust air/fuel mixture to the computer. (In open loop, the computer can only guess how much fuel the engine needs.) Since you have a higher flow muffler, and the power commander remapping the fuel curve to inject more gas into the engine, basically you are making the engine run too rich.
This is only my theory. And if a '06 zx6r doesn't use an O2 sensor, then what I just wrote doesn't mean a thing.
