REV limit changin
hello guys and gals out there rolling on two wheels that has a long compnay on the side of there tanks, i own a 636 '04 model and when i took it the track it only revs 13.5, juss wondering if u could change it since i need to go a lil father since i wants to bog down before the end of the 1/4,, i did the "hold the button" and it says 15.5, but it be still at 13.5... can anyone help me out,

i believe that button trick is just for the shift light, and won't change the actual limiter.. the limit number is a ROM function inside the ecu.. it CAN be hacked, actually, as theres a guy on a 12-R forum thats "notching" and reprogramming STOCK ECU's with a laptop(!!) but thats a lil overboard.. i'm not an electronics engineer like he is.. just electrical..lol
if you're adiment on learning this, i'll post a link about it, (itsincredibly interesting to read)but as far as an easy way to change the rev limiter.. no way "hose-a"..lol

You are correct that the rev limit cannot be changed on a stock ECU. It is possible on a race ECU (Up to 16K but highlyNOT recommended)or if you have a PCIII & Ignition Module, you can raise it by 500RPM only.
