RE: replacement of gas cap after theft
Post a picture of your cap/ damage. The tumblers are the little pieces inside the barrelthat move/ release so you can turn the key. So you can turn the lock but it won't release? Turn harder! If not then you will have to get someone with TINY hands to push in the latches from inside the tank through the fuel pump hole. Make sure to fully drain and vent the tank or they'll stink like fuel. Heck, you're not that far from me; bring it by and I may be able to get it open for you. I'll P.M you.

ill get some pictures soon. the problem is that im working my *** off lately, so the next day off i get is on tues. and my situation is that my bike is at my parents house, i live w my gf about 30 minutes away in north dallas, where it got stolen. so when i work on it, i have to drive back to the house to do anything. what ive been doin lately is ordering parts to the house, then going back on my only day off and working from morning until afternoon to get stuff done.
hopefully ill get a good 3 days off next week for the holiday tho and take some pictures. unless speedracer figures out how to crack it open first. ill give u a call herea little bit, see if we cant get this thing opened.

You can do whatever you think is right but I hope you rinse out the tank. Even after the gas dries there will still be fumes and that's what will combust. Just want to make sure you're as safe off the road as on. And I couldn't stand it if such a awsome bike blew up. Be safe and good luck.

i think theres a bolt holding the cap in from the inside which you cannot get off until you lift up the cap. this bolt is what keeps the lid locked and hold pressure i the tank via the rubber seal. a locksmith could have done it for you for like 30 or 40 or 20 bucks without taking off the tank. he basically uses picks to hold the tumblers open then uses a screwdriver to unscrew the lock. really easy (for the locksmith)
