Default Ram Air Mod

So, i read about this ''ram air mod'' and it shows some decent HP gains. i also read that it helps keeping water out of the intake but some people said that it's kinda true but it doesn't do a great job, and i never ride in the rain anyways. can anyone help me understand better and help me on how to do this mod? thanx

Is it similar to the 10r ram air mod attempted in the past?

ram air mod on the 03-04 636 is where you remove the intake resonator and plug it up its located underneath the ram air it might be different on the 05-06 models tho

you can check to see if you have one located underneath the ram air if you do remove a seal the hole back up with something, this mod lets the ram air breath alittle better with the resonator unplug

All Ram-Air intake bikes ave them including the ZX6R's from 03 thru 09. That resonator is supposed to dampen some of the intake sound. I remove it on all my bikes and it sounds a little meaner. Haven't done any dyno runs to compare the power however. I guess it would create less turbulence at high speeds with the resonator removed and plugged but the gains would be minimal. The Race Kit Manual tells you to remove it most likely to save weight but it probably also increases power a little. If you decide to do it, plug the hole so it's smooth and not sticking up in the airstream.
