Default RAM AIR

Anyone ever taken out the air baffles under the air duct there is two of them? I was told I might pick up some power ,but it will have a louder intake noise. Also I would imagine they trap water before it gets in the motor, and should I dump them out periodically if I am to keep these?

yes that is what they are for (water) and no you shouldent have to dump them out they get so little water that it should evaporate before they overflow. you could take them out but i dont see whay you would want to, once they fill with air then they are useless. dont know how to explain it good but theoretically they fill with air and then all the other air should just pass over the top of them because they are already full. then if some water comes along it goes into there (heavier than air) and then fills back up.

wow dont know if that made one bit of sence but i think the only time you would see a power gain if you took them off would be the very few seconds it would take to fill them with air(which you shouldentbe rodding anyway)

If it's the little plastic bottle looking things; They are called resonators and won't matter if you remove them or keep them on. Theymainly suppress intake noise and catch some water. Racers remove them toget rid of extraweight and plug the holes flush with the inside of the duct. You will hear a growl from the intake during accelerationwhen they are removed.

The other things help straighten out the air flow.
