Quick RPM's question

Quick RPM's question
I was wondering, some people had said to get optimum power, I should pretty much shift at around 13,500 RPM's on my 2006 636, and I was tooling around on a nice nice day yesterday and once I got to about 8000-9000 RPM's that baby began to vibrate like no ones business...is this normal? I'm talkin I thought my freakin ***** were gonna fall off lol. I don't think I've ever taken a bike that high in RPM's in first gear so I didn't know what to expect. I was gonna try in higher gears, but I would have been focking flying and getting ticketed cause those pigs were out in full force so I figured I should just ask heh. Thanks.

RE: Quick RPM's question
That 13,500 shift RPM is for racing and not for street. On the street you should shift at around 12,000 RPM and that will put you at around 9,000 RPM for maximum torque for the next gear. As far as the vibration, hard to tell without hearing/ feeling for my self. If it's that bad, check & replace your plugs and run some RXPfuel injector cleaner through the tank.

RE: Quick RPM's question
Hrm it just dawned on me that since I havent installed my PCIII that it may be that causing the extreme vibration at the higher RPM levels? I only have a slip on Akra and plan to get an air filter to boot, but not really worrying about it til after June 11 (Step 1 of my medical boards). I'll definately run the fuel injector cleaner thru with my next tank of gas just to be sure.

RE: Quick RPM's question
I don't think that the vibration is there because you dont have he PCIII. May have other issues. Have you been revving to 13,500 a lot? Did you ever miss ashift at that RPM?

RE: Quick RPM's question
Actually I've never been that high, I was just trying it to see what would happen. I cant evne get that high bc the vibration is nuts, so I ended up shifting at 9000ish. I tried it twice so far. I guess it's hard to describe the vibration other than i feel it under the seat persay. The bike doesnt seemingly get "unstable" but I don't know much about bikes and I am trying to learn about this one since I plan on keeping it for a while. Is your ride as smooth at 5000 RPM's as it is at 13500?

RE: Quick RPM's question
Not as smooth at 13000 or 15000 but just a little more buzz because the engine is working harder. Mine vibrates the most at around 70 mph on t freeway so I stay above that most of the time. Get yours looked at by someone knowledgeable; maybe take it for a testride. Mine get smoother the faster I go. Check your tire balance and your motormounts for torque.

RE: Quick RPM's question
Boy that RXP stuff rules. It's helped, so maybe the storage over the winter time had gunked stuff up. Never even heard of RXP Fuel additive until just now and it is GREAT. Thanks

RE: Quick RPM's question
Great the RXPworked out. That RXPis some awesome stuff! The 05 I just put together has a similat situation. I put it together from parts off ebay and who know how long they were sitting aound. I'll run some RXP through it also.
