u really don't need 1 but it will smooth out the throttle responce and u are going to be runnin lean once u put the slipon on bc most bikes comes from the factory lean and the pc will help u have the right A/F mixture for your bike, go to the dyno jet website and see if they offer a map for your bike with that slipon, im pretty sure they do

I work at a shop and am a certified dyno tech. What 768ryda said is partially correct. However I do not recommend the downloadable maps from dynojet. Just because it works on 1 bike does not mean it is 100% compatiable with every other bike. It could be the way your plugs fire, what kind of fuel you run, air filter, etc. You should get a dyno tune from your local dyno shop

Yes. The power commander is how we would "tap" into it and tune it. The power commander allows us techs to put it on a dyno and see exactly what your bike is doing and how the air/fuel ratio is doing. It then allows us to go in and manually add or take away fuel in the necessicary spots. Like i said before, EVERY SINGLE bike is different and I dont recommend the "generic" maps because they are just that, generic. You could download a generic map into your bike, and then I could tune it, and I BETI could pull MULTIPLE more hp out of your bike.. its not cheap tho. Well here in FL, we charge $300 per dyno tune. Takes roughly 2-3 hours, but we map through all the ranges in increments of 250 rpm (thats alot on a 15,000 rmp bike) and from 0 to 100 throttle! WELL WORTH IT THOUGH. If you want it done right, spend the money and have it done right the first time. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Get the Yosh first and if the bike feels like it's not running smooth or has a lag spot, then consider a power commander. Maybe take it to the shop with the dyno and have them take a look at the A/F mixture/ ratio to see if you really need a PC111. IF you do, then they can install one for you. Most Slip-On Exhaust manufacturers claim that you don't need any re-mapping or Power Commander. We had an 07 ZX6R with a FULL System & BMC filter and it really didn't need any fuel enrichment. The A/F ratio was perfect throughout the RPM range.I thought that it would be/ was lean and when we richened it, we actuallylost power. So make sure you needit before buying one. You can usually tell by the color & smell of the exhaust. If the color of the tailpipe is sooty black & thesmellburns your eyes, it's too rich. It should be dark brown without a lot of sooty deposit.

I currently work at American Airlines as an Aircraft Technicianat DFW. I worked at Oakland Honda and Powells Alameda Honda (California)back in the mid 80's.I was a proffessionalmotorcycle mechanic for 8 plus years (at Cycle Connection in Oakland), raced 5 years and started working on jets in 89. I still work on bikes & cars (since I was 15 years old) andhave an L1 Driveability SpecialistASE certification. The dyno run we did on the bikewas at ATS racing in Denton, Texas. I'd eventually like to get a dyno so I can start race tuning. I hooked up with Lone Star Track Days Endurance Race team last yearand will be wrenching on their bikes this season. We aim to take the overall endurance championship in the CMRA!

Aircraft.. wow.. I guess it would be along the same lines, everything would become familiar just like everything else would. Sounds awesome. I work at Stock Mild to Wild Performance in Jacksonville, FL. We actually have a spare dyno for sale if you or anyone else is interested, $26,000. Still like new. Perfect condition. But I do the mechanic thing as well. And Ill be getting into actually riding our bikes at the track this season get some seat time in and work my way up.
