Paint rubbing off swingarm
The paint is rubbing off my swingarm from my boot rubbing against it. Just wondering if someone has a good sugestion to prevent it from getting worse, except slapping a sticker there.

I do have the heel guards on. I've got Vortex rear sets set somewhere mid high and mid back or a little more, but even with the stock pegs my boot rubbed, just at a different location. I also ride on the ***** of my feet (or maybe even closer to my toes) so my boot passes the guards. I thought this would be a common problem.

how about a piece of 3mil vinyl cut to fit on the areas of the swing arm where your heels rub ? same principal of slapping a sticker on only in a more protective custom kind of way instead of slapping on a random sticker. if you were to do that. just slap on the vinyl, dont even worry about reapinting it.
also you can repaint it yourself or step it up and have it powder coated, whitch will be alot more scratch resistant then the stock paint.
id go the vinyl way myself being its the cheapest.

Go to a sign shop or decal shop; they should have any color vinyl sticker material you need. The magazine articles said that these frames & swingarms were anodized but it looks like they're only painted. Thought so.

sounds like a good idea. exactly what kind of vinyl is that (where to get it)?

3m makes it and 3mil is the thickness of it. its pretty thick stuff for a sticker. you can find it in squares and in rolls online.
