Our bike's are NOT Fast Enough?

RE: Our bike's are NOT Fast Enough?
WOW this is one heck of a topic to bring up NOT!!!! I do not agree with you on this one speed. Just because someone wants to have a powerfull bike/car/truck or what ever doesnt mean that they are making it more powerful cause then have totally mastered it. Its more of making it yours. I have a dodge ram 2500 hemi with 400 hp and i want more power. Im looking at the supercharger. But by what u have said above, then, in therory, i shouldnt get it cause i , ahhhhh, havent towed my "max" amount yet. LOL I mean come on, everytime some one says that these bikes arent fast enough, the first question you should ask is,"what are they comparing it to?" Heck, if its a liter then, no these bikes dont match up in the power department. If its another 6, then maybe its modified and does have more punch.
I just dont think that because i want to get every little bit of power out of my bike, that im an idiot. I should have just gotten a scooter. Oh wait, you cant and shouldnt even use the scooters now a days to there full potential on the street.
This would also mean that we all should be driving, ahhhhhhhh, 50hp cars. lol
How many people who own a 636 want to be a moto gp rider, come on, we get the bike probably first on looks, then cause its the biggest 600 out there (close to it anyway) and cause they are cheaper both in price and ins than a liter.
I agree that at times my 636 could use a little extra hp. Dont get me wrong, its one hell of a bike, but its not a liter. And when i want the extra power its not on the track racing, its just spur of the moment, get on it, oh wait, drop down 2, then get on it. It would be nice to not have to drop down 2, but hey, i understand that its a 6 not a liter so i deal with it.
Now before u ask, no i can not take my bike to its limits. But other than a professionl, name me someone who can.
Im sure im gonna get slammed for this reply, but i also think some of the quit people will speak up and agree with me.
Well after reading this post i had to let that out. So now i must sell my jordons sneakers, cause i now know that i can never use then to their full potential, so why have them. lol

Ok now that i've read other peoples posts. I say what ever you want to ride is ok. Just hope everyone just id safe and rides to the ablities that's all i hate seeing my fellow riders go down and get hurt for doing something they knew they shouldn't be doing. But that's just my 2 cents.
I know people out there are going to argue intill there blue in the face and say stuff about there bikes or other's bikes but hey there allowed there opions and that's just there thinking right?
Oh well just ride that's all i guess i'm saying and keep the rubber side to the road.

RE: Our bike's are NOT Fast Enough?
Don't the Hayden bros push like 200 horses on their bikes? On a 400lb bike I wouldn't complain either!! lol
I push 159 hp to my rear wheel on my liter bike...I guess I am in idiot also...Thanx TX, I love you man!! lol lol...... I like to drag more so than twisty tho'....Don't get me wrong, I like twisties also...And sometimes I wish I had more power..I had the front wheel come up on me at 90mph on a hard shift, and yes, It felt good!!! lol.....I shift from first into 2nd at 70 mph, and can cut my rear wheel loose into a smoke ball....That's what makes me happy.
I do drag my bike also on the track. Why have a super sport bike then?? For the looks? That's like buying a corvette, and never getting above 65 mph...As long as there are engines, there is going to be gearheads like me, squeezing every ounce of juice out of them.
How many people on here have put on exhausts, filters, PC3's ?? You do not do that for the fun of it. It is for more power. I am not knocking the 636. It is a nice little bike. And if there were two equal riders, one on my liter, one on a 636, on a twistie road, the 636 would probably take it....You get back into the flats, I'm gonna smoke ya!!! lol lol
That's why there are so many different bikes and different cars. For me, a 600 class bike is too slow. For others, a 600 class bike is too fast. Some people buy Ford Focuses, some buy Dodge Vipers. It's all about what you can do with your skill level. And how crazy you think you are... Everyone on this site is addicted to speed and the adrenaline from having a fast piece of machinery under their belts. It is the only reason to buy an SS bike. So whether you're going slow, fast, or in between... You're on a Harley, Kawi, yamaha, I am going to wave at you, and sit down and have a beer with ya.
Yes, I have drove a new 636....It is light and nimble. But for me, it just lacked that high power snap. It is all stock tho'....And if I wanted to have some serious fun, that 636 would shoot me thru some twisties with a grin on my face!!
So whatever you ride, or however fast you like to go, keep her safe as you can, and enjoy the **** out of it. You only live once, and I'm going down with a smile on my face, and a skidmark on my a$$ !!!!!

RE: Our bike's are NOT Fast Enough?
Guys, don't get me wrong. I love the power and always looking to get more performance out of everything I own.[8D] I would try to get out 150 HP out of my bike if I could and afford it at the same time. That doesn't mean that I can use it all or even 2/3's of it to it's full potential. It feels graet having monstrous HP underneath you or under your foot. I've had fast and powerful Hotrods i.e.; 68 454ci Chevelle, 69 327ci 425HP Camaro, 69 396 Camaro (still got that), my race bike etc. I love the power!
I just get pissed when mostly new riders (less than a year and a 636 as their first bike) complain about our bikes (600/ 636's) not having enough power. Like they've pushed it to the limits and it's slow. Try pushing a 250 ninja to the limits in the tight twisties against a liter bike and see which one kicks ***. I had a 1982 Honda MB5 (49cc 2 stroke motorcycle) and used to kick *** in the Berkeley Hills in California against Honda 400 and 450 Hawks with great riders on them. Uphill they'd run over me but downhill, they couldn't touch me. I pushed that bike to it's limits but only on the street with it's street equipment. How about the 250 2 stroke racers? Half of our HP but kicks butt. There's always someone faster. Even Rossi get beaten.
BigRig, I also like that Power when you snap the throttle and you can keps the skid marks to yourself; too much info. LOL
Our bikes have plenty of power and speed. I guess it how and what you use it for whether in a straight line, twisties, stunts/ Wheelise or just cruising. Just thin; 98% of the cars on the streets can't even come close to this kind of performance & speed for under 10 Grand. Anyway enough of my ramblings; what do you have to say or think?
THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE! Somewhere; I know it is.

RE: Our bike's are NOT Fast Enough?
Also back in the early to mid 70's the 1000's were putting out 64 HP! And those were the fastest bikes around. You had to have ***** to ride those. But our's are putting out only a mere 115 HP at the rear wheel!
