pre filter screen? what is that?

I followed K's break in for the most part, 10w/40 dino (castrol) then switched to full syn (amsoil 10w40) at close to 1500 miles.

A pre-filter screen is a micro fine screen that that traps small debris. This is supposed to help keep fine pieces of "crap" from recirculating through the engine. You put on the oil filter before it is screwed on.

Sounds like it could reduce the flow and drop the pressure, MO just go with the filter and keep up the regular oil changes.

Motul 300V 5W40 has been working wel for me.

I understand that people who race use them (per-filter screens), so they can see what's going on inside the engine. I don't think I would use on my street bike, but as a race application it could let you know that you are damaging your engine if you found shards of metal on the screen that would be lost in the filter. I don't know I am just asking. I people who drag race cars that use them.
