I post this very worried. I have 96 ZX6r and did an oil change about 2000kms ago and today , i had to put in almost 1liter to bring it to the righ level again...Is this normal or the engine started to use too much oil?I use Mobil 1 Extra-4t 10w 40 semi-synth

 

How many miles are on the bike?

When you filled the bike up with oil after the oil change, was the bike level or on the sidestand?

When you checked the level again today, was the bike hot and was it level or on the sidestand?

 

i did the oil change with filter.THe bike i dunno how many miles it has, but i think over 30000 km... I know how to check the oil and how to fill it up.I was just concerned about the large amount of oil used.I have to mention that i ride it hard almost all the time... the oil level was checked after the warm engine cooled off... with the bike leveled

 

You would think that she would be smoking alot out the exhaust using that munch oil. What to you see?

 

i went out thes evening and i looked at the exhaust in front of a headlight , and no sign of smoke!

 

do you wheelie alot? did you check your airbox. do you have ANY signs of a oil leak

basically you shouldn't of lost that much oil.

 

what should i see in my airbox?

 

i was just wondering if you looked in your airbox. if there was oil in there that would help find the cause
