I am not sure about the other generations. but my 2004 636, has a weird thing you have to do when you change the oil. draining is normal, but in order for the oil to circulate properly and for your oil light to turn off you have to crack the oil filter till a drip start the bike let oil shoot out and then tighten the oil filter and stop the bike. they call this burping the oil filter.i found this to be the most ridiculous thing. i have had to do it every time i change my oil. anyone else with my gen have this annoyance.
