Hey BR which weight moblie 1 do you use, if there is different I am not sure and is there a motorcycle moblie 1 or do you use the one I see it the station all the time.
I use the 15w50 in her. With the triple digit heats, and the way I like to ride, it's about the only weight that will hold up around here. I have tried the 10w40 full syn, and I can toast that thin oil in 500 miles. So now, 15w50 full syn with stock Kawi fillter replacement.

you notice a big diference with the 15/50 BR? i might change it up and go thicker. its hot and humid down here im in traffic and my bike idles up to 215 temp at times, and i ride pretty hard, i might test it out.

Ya, a huge difference. It doesn't get cold enough here in the winter time to worry about changing to something thinner. Look at any oil manufacturers website. 10w40 only protects, If I remember right, up to 90 degrees. After that it starts to break down.

But, ya, lasts longer, smoother shifts, got rid of that 2nd gear clunk, and at 2,000 miles, the oil is still clean and I hold 240 psi in each cylinder at 40,000 miles....

No prob man... That new bike you are running, you want to get some miles on her before you switch to synthetic. Everything needs to seat in first.

I bet it's a humid SOB down that way...

Something I am witnessing with MY eyes...not I heard and all that... But a friend of mine who has been working on bikes for sometime now brought the 06 636 early this year..he has 7500 miles on it and after the dealership did the first 600 mile service... he has been running Regular Motor vehicle Castrol GTX 20-50 every 1500 miles here n corpus christi texas where it is.... shall i say HOT as HELL.... I have riden it around 3500 when i decided 2 get 1 myself and I rode it this sunday... no diff from before or my bike...xcept his is a lil smoother w/o that second gear clunk like mines is doing.. so I wonder what is the REAL deal with motor oil... and motorcycle oil??? Especially when the manual simply says 10w-40 (not 10w-40 motorcycle specific) with the different JASO MA etc.... and to stay away from enery conservatives......Is it just a selling plus (a few additives specially for bikes but wont hurt if u didnt have them???)

You do want to stay away from energy conserving oils. They have an additive in them that can mess up your wet clutch. Car manufactureres have to put the energy conserving oil in to meet federal standards of fuel mileage and etc.

There was a test not real long ago, between mobil one 15w50 car oil synthetic, vs most of the major brands of MC syns, and the Mobil came out in 2nd place, if I remember right.

You can run regular car oil, but make sure it is not energy conserving. Most syn car oils have close to the same additives if not a little more than MC oils do...If you run a car oil, I would say run a syn or a semi syn. They have extra pressure additives, along with anti foaming, and heat dissipation..

its tempting to throw regular mobil 1 synthetic for cars in my ride and i ran my 9r on it for a while back when mobil 1 synthetic came out, and had no problems. but i just cant do it now.. i want my baby to have the best but the best bang for the buck. the castrol actevo is good stuff. im going to stick with it then i might go to the mobil 1 mx4t when i get 20 grand on her. by then she will be a track bike mostly only anyway cause im buying a busa next. i need a big fat ride to tool around on with my chick on the back. 600s are ball crunchers.
