RE: Ninja Newbie- Chronicles of a Track **** reborn
There are some motorcycle fairing repair places that will fix it & paint the fairings for half the price of a new one. Also there is a company that will paint the bike with race graphics in any Team Paintjob you want. Check the motorcycle magazines. Don't buy the fairing kits available on ebay from Hong Kong. Their paint, fit & finish sucks and the plastic is cheap & brittle. One of my coworkers bought a full set for his CBR600RR and it looks like crap up close. The holes don't line up and it has already cracked & deformed from the engine heat.

Sounds like a good project. Keep us posted with pics as you go. Maybe a green, I hear that's a fast color...but don't see much of going past blue!...he-he

Well I did some real work on it last night. I tested the strator coil, it appears to check out ok per the manual. I alsochecked the rectifier with the multimeter as well. Both check out ok per the book. I traced all the wiring and all appears to be in order. I noticed that the battery kept loosing some charge though. I drove it around the block for about 10 minutes and then it died with not enough power to fire back up. (by not enough I would say about 11 volts) When the bike is running the battery is seeing 13volts but the bike will shut itself down, basically acting like it's flooded, like there isn't enough spark to burn the fuel. I know there is fuel and the bike runs great while it stays running.. It idles smooth and the pickup was amazing. I wonder if the battery itself is shot and just will not accept a charge properly? What else could this be?
