From what I've gathered about everyone's opinion of tires on these forums (though keep in mind, I'm not sure what brands will supply a tire size for that year)... the Michelin Pilot Powers (not CT2) are a soft performance tireset for a reasonably inexpensive price (I think $230 or so for the set?)... the Bridgestone Battlax tireset is more of a hard tire with long mileage and amazing water traction... then Dunlop has a performance tire that's right in the middle of those other two I just mentioned (though not sure about the price). From what I've gathered, the highest performance street tire out there is the Michelin Pilot Power CT2 tireset, but they're remarkebly more expensive and I'm hearing that they have the worst mileage of almost all tires on the market (they're designed strickly for racing, and a 1500 mile tire life is perfectly fine for that). But all of this is my opinion. Picking tires is almost as bad as picking a brand of oil... and we all know how long the oil threads can go, lol.

Michelin PP's are good from what I hear also. I am using the Dunlop Qualifier with good results 3400 miles and showing some middle flattening from my two trips. I am not sure on pirelli actually either, but a few people are liking the diablo for street stuff it seems. I am not a bridgestone rider. One rider that I know is using the m3 or was it a m2 metzler and prefers it over the dunlop qualifier.
The Q cost $238 shipped

Dunlop Qualifiers & Michelin 2CT's got great reviews for traction, feedback, cold, wet weather & wear for aggressive street/ trackday riding. The Qualifiers will be my next set. The Bridgestone BT014's are excellent also for street & trackdays. For street, the Pirelli Diablo's are great also as are the Metzlers. Check with Cycle Gear; they're having a Sale on them for $169.95 a Set!
