New ZX6R owner...
Hello ALL! I just purchased a black 2006 ZX6R on 2/13/2006. I have had a chance to put 220 miles on it then the cold front came in and postponed my break-in. I am new to Kawasaki but not to riding. I have owned a 1997 GSXR750, 2001 R6, 2004 R6, 2004 FZ6. The 2004 R6 was totalled in a wreck (not my fault) and the FZ6 was bought with the insurance money. I traded the FZ6 in on my ZX6R.
I have been researching and ordering all of my upgrades and personalization items since the night I brought it home. So far I have the European front blinkers, frame sliders, and Puig double bubble windshield. By the end of this week the rest of items should be here...Muzzy slip on exhaust, fender eliminator, Clear Alternatives integrated tail light and seat cowl. I am going to take a day off of work to get everything installed once I have everything. I want to do it all at one time.
I have pictures of my bike but it is a stock, black ZX6R. I will post pictures when my personalization is complete.
BTW...this is a great site.

Looks like you got a pretty good cross-section of experience on different bikes. What made you decide on the 636 rather than the new R6 or even 600rr?
BTW, welcome.

When making my decision on bikes I was looking at ALOT of different bikes...Ducati SS 800, R6, GSXR600, Triumph Daytona, Speed Four, Speed Triple, SV1000s, SuperHawk and probably a few others that I have forgotten about. I chose the 636 because it is tried and true, it feels great underneath me, and I love the way it looks. I'm not quite ready for the new generation of exhausts that all of the new bikes are moving towards. I still like the undertail exhaust that the 636 still offers. Color: Kawasaki makes it hard to make a decision on color because all of the colors offered look great and there aren't graphics spattered all over it. If I don't like the looks of a bike, I am not interested in it. The 600RR or the F4i have never appealed to me so they were not even in my list of choices.
I'm not a racer so I could care less about one having more or less horse power than another.
I'm glad I made the choice that I did.
