I'd recommend disconnecting it if more than 1 month or get a battery tender/ maintainer. I haven't ridden in 3 weeks but started it and let it run a bit today. Will try to ride tomorrow and the day after.

 

Thanks for all the help. I'll get a new battery this weekend and see what happens. Also, how often should I get my oil changed? I had it changed at 600 miles then again at 2000. It has around 2500 on it right now. When should i get my next oil change? I plan on riding regularly from now on..lol.

 

I get mine changed every 1500 miles. It all depends on how hard you ride.
