I am new to the riding and bike owning arena. I recently purchased a 2003 Ninja 636, Blue, 9700 miles. Rides great, no problems. I have put on 500 miles in the last 60 days, so trying to break it in. I would appreciate any help with tips onmaking the bike faster and louder.

Welcome to the forum. I recommend that you learn to ride what you have first before trying to make it faster especially if you are new to riding and this is your first bike. It is more thanplenty fast enough for a beginner & your first bike. It can teach you a lot. I have been riding for 25 years and my 03 636is still teaching me well. I haven't even come close to pushing it to it's limits; my limits will run out before the bikes. Take some riding courses like the California Superbike School, Freddie Spencers School (bunch of others out there), the Motorcycle Safety Foundation courseor do a trackday.

The MSF would be a great place to start ..........in my opinion ........I know it helped me. You'll get some very good basic guidelines .

+1. Learn the bike before it teaches you a harsh lesson. Educate yourself my friend. And welcome to the forums.

+ 1 for speed. Just get seat time that's all. I hit the 1000 mile mark and still learning. I'll probably never ride it to all it capabilities...wow that was a big word for me!
