I have an 03 636 and Im replacing the left side engine cover. I got all the bolts off and im trying to take it off but it seems like theres internal bolts bolted to the cover from the insinde and im just not sure what to do.

any suggestions would be helpful

Look at this, this may help you out some.

 

After you get all the bolts off, try tapping the front, back, top & bottom with a deadblow mallet to loosen the seal of the gasket then pull it straight out. Might have to tap it with a deadblow malletagain as you're pulling it out. The alternator stator is under there and may be hanging up especially if you crashed on that side.

 

thanks for your replies but i figured out the problem... I didnt realize the stators magnetic capabilities were so strong and it just takes a little extra force to pull it out. Ill put some pics up when I put on my aftermarket woodcraft cover.

 

I figured it was the alternator/ stator magnet.(If the bike wasn't dropped/ crashed)
