Default Melting Tach and Buzzing Issues on a '04 636

I changed my wind screen a few days ago to some kind of cheap chrome ebay deal... I parked it in the sun for about a day; not even in super hot weather. I come back to my bike, and see that the top of my tach has started MELTING. Has this happened to anyone else? The plastic is totally uneven. All i think of as a quick fix would be to take a dremel to it and start sanding it down until its smooth and then maybe brush on some black enamel. I dunno why, it just bothers me a lot when im looking at my speedometer [>:].

Also, im having front end vibration/buzzing in first gear above ~6-7 k... Im sure its not the keys but its in the front end... Any ideas?

It is probably your the clutch lever Mine does it at high RPMS. Next time you go for a ride when you hear the buzzing slap a finger on the clutch lever and see if it shuts up. Let me know.

+1 on the clutch lever buzzing. As for your gages being melted i'm not sure what you could do for it unless you got new ones.

maybe that chrome windscreen had a magnifying effect on the top of your gauge and melted it. park your bike in the sun and see if the windscreen magnifys the light.

if your screen does that i would change it out before you melt everything. I have a nice screen on my bike it wasn't to expensive. take a look at puig windscreens there nice.

I'd recommend the purchase of a cover for it . I leave mine parked out at work but I have a cover that I throw over it after it cools down . The one I have is a half cover which keeps the hot sun and dust off of the windscreen , tank , seat etc....etc.......

The puig DB's will do the same melting issue. Dark smoke not as bad as the others. Learn to cover up the screen when parked.
