Lowering 06 ZX6R

I just got my zx6 about 2 weeks ago, i'm a converted Harley rider. I was thinking about lowering the bike but I keep hearing everyone say it realy messes up the handling. I've lowered all the Harleys i've had and except for sparking the pipes and forward controls on sharp turns I havent noticed any handling probs. I like the lowered look and I dont realy dive into any corners. Any suggestions or coments would be cool.

my 03 zx6-r is lowered 2" in the back, 3" in the front. it takes more effort to lean it the same as a stock height bike, but i can carve the corners as well as my freinds 06 gsxr 600. i would not recomend the front being lower then the back for everyday riding becasue it puts more strain on the neck, but i can launch out of the whole like a mother with it like this. i plan to raise the front an inch to make it even with the back but have not gotten around to it.
if you do lower the front 3", be warned, you WILL drag your bottom fairings on large speed bumps and pot holes, as well as have the fender impact the front nose faring if you land it hard when doing wheelies, (the clear is worn off the top of my fender), but 2" should be more managable.
i would buy the links they sell that have 3 positions for the back so you can choose how low you want to go.

Just remember to use a front tripleclamp stand or loosen only one side at a time. Slide the tube up and tighten then do the other side the equal amount.
