i just purchased a 06 636, and since it is is winter up here, i have free time to do stuff to the bike. i want to take the mud guard thing off and do sone cutting on it to make it sorta go away. i know there are kits out there but that money that could go other places. i tryed to take the light off and i couldent find a place to disconect the wires i really dot want to cut them. any help will be appriciated. thanks

 

the plug is on the clutch side of the bike right before the zx6r logo under the rear tail section of the plastic. check my gallery for pics, might help as a refrence.

take the side covers off (by the tank
remove the 2 bolts that hold the front seat on
remove the rear seat
take off the 7 bolts holding the tail section on
on the front break side the black plastic is held on with a grommit and pin, pull it out carefully
on the clutch side after you remove the side panels theres 3 pins holding the plastic on, push the centers in and use your fingernail to pull out the pins from their base. to install them push the centers so the tips are sticking out, incert and push the center pins flush.
slide the tail section back and disconnect the tail light plug.
remove the tail section.
reverse order to install.

 

just checkin that was for the break light right? i was lookin for the licence plate light?

 

you need to get all that off to get to the lic plate light plug. yes lic plate light.
