LEADED RACE GAS
i know a bunch of guys run it at the track (as well as me) but is the leaded gas hurting my motor. why isnt leaded gas "street legal"? anyone know anything about the gas? i think its 110 octane. thanks

Leaded gas is a major polluter that’s why it’s not used anywhere but the race track. It will not hurt your motor but it does cost like 8-9 bucks a gallon.
JMO but premium gas is great for track or street, if you are a racer and the extra .3 hp is needed to gain an edge you need the racing gas, but not necessary for most riders.

The thing about Leaded gas is it will destroy your exhaust and the built in catalytic converter, also any sensors that may be in the exhaust like an A/F or EGT gauge. It won't hurt your motor, but I don't think it will give you any advantage over a high octane gas. You are better off getting 116 octane or "race gas". These engines are not designed for leaded gas or the extra heat it creates.
