Default Latest track day. Carolina Motorsports Park

Last week was spend in the mountains with the Aprilia and the wife as well as some great friends, and Sunday we headed to SC to camp at the track and do a Monday track day.

I had a GREAT time and was able to get off the left side of the bike a bit more this time, so I managed to save the toe sliders this time. That is proof that the knee continues to get better as time goes by and I am slowly getting more bend in it!

Anyways, I took two local guys with me on my trailer and had others show up as well, so I took the BIG tarp for everyone to pit under..

My buddy Mitch gave a short half time show at lunch!

Left to right..... Doug, Russell, and Tony. Russell and Tony rode down with me.....

I thought I was gonna get SOOOO busted for stuntin on the track! My gearing was ALL wrong for this track and she liked to rear up out of turn 14 unless I kept it a gear higher, but then I never got enough drive out of the corner....

Got more pics and am still waiting for the track photographer to finish sorting, but here is a video I put together as a compilation of the day........ I also have most of the sessions loaded under my Youtube account, so you can search under "meanstrk" for the rest if ya want....

WOW! Awesome! Ron, thanks for the entertainment. Very well done! Keep them coming.

What kind of camera equipment did you use? Also, you look like youneed to get into a faster group; you're too fast for the group you were riding in. Man, I can't wait to get out there. Every opportunity is hindered with some think. Last couple oftimes: Bike wasn't ready, then I hurt my knee so couldn't make that trackday either. Now I'm selling the "designated" trackday bike but will be assembling another one. I may ride my 03 but it's too clean/ nice to risk. Might have to anyway.

I use to run in Advanced group, and did a couple sessions in Advanced Monday, but I dropped down to Intermediate due to a couple reasons...... I like to do video, and most of the guys I know are in Intermediate, so I can dice it up with them. I also am still getting over my knee surgery, and this is only my 2nd track day since my knee getting hurt. Even so, I am usually running Advanced pace when I break out from the group and usually just run a few laps behind someone to shoot them, then run off and go find someone else to video. I am just out there having fun these days! When I jumped up to Advanced on Monday, I immediately dropped 4 seconds per lap, so I still got most of my chops.....

My camera set up is a Samsung video camera on a tank mount for forward and I have a MotoComm unit mounted for therear facing stuff. I keep having problems with the MotoComm tube cameras crapping out due to vibration though and this is the 2nd one that has stopped working on me. I am gonna wrap the next one in foam or something..... I like the view it gave me though and thought it was pretty cool being able to show both angles of a pass!

You can see my tank cam in this shot......

I need to get a shot of my rear facing set up I guess.....

Looks good. Nice Videos; almost like watching the Speed Channel. I saw the key FOB or something smacking the fwd camera on the latter half of the video.Try wrapping the MotoComm camera in large closed cell foam sponge or something similar. Maybe even some Gel Pad.You also are at risk of stuff being thrown up at it from the tire & chain. Try mounting it up on the tail.

I forgot to secure the lens cap after clearing the memory card. I am just gonna take that thing off next time.

I like the camera where it is, just need to isolate the vibrations a bit.......

Won't it get damaged and hit by rocks & debris off the track? It's a great location for suspension feedback/ to see what the rear wheel/ shock is doing. Awesome video. I watched it over again!

Naw. Usually, the crap gets tossed backwards, not forwards.

Ron, you have a lot of awesome & entertaining videos! A lot of trackdays! Excellent footage! I'd like to do that one of these days; strap a camera on my bike and go have fun. I guess you can learn some stuff by watching the videos too.
