Hey guys im a noob to this forum anyways. I own a 2005 zx6r 636 completely stock with stock exhaust. i am thinking of purchasing a K&N air filter but i have heard that installing one of these may require dyno tuning! is this correct? does anyone have one? I searched but couldnt find the results i was looking For

i belive that putting a high flow filter like a k&n will make the bike run more on the lean side.....if i am wrong someone will corect me on this on here....a good idea would to pic up a power commander if it does tend to run to lean or if you plan on putting an exhaust on with the filter

thank you for the Welcoms! this forum seems to be a REAL good one. I hate those forums were people love to flame. But yes i heard the same thing that the bike would run lean. and i dont really want to alter to much of the bikes performance because it performs so well right out of the factory. Thanks for the replies guys!

With a stock exhaust it won't run lean, however with a full exhaust or a slip on and a K&N, it may require a PCIII.

All fuel injection bikes have compensation tables within their ECU's. Running a higher flow air filter should not add more air than the bike can compensate for by adding fuel.

best thing to do would be to save up for all of em.. filter + pc3 + exhaust.. and whack em all in the same time!
