Default instructionless turn signals

I got my blue clear alternatives turn signals, and the damn things came with ZERO instructions. I got online and found clear alternatives website, and once again, ZERO instruction. This is probably a n00b question, but I'm lost. Do I need to pull off the fairings on my '05 636? Is there a way to get the turn signals out without taking off the fairings? How many bolts hold on the fairings around the turn signals if they need to be taken off? I appreciate it.

When I replaced my turn signals (twice) on my 03 I took off the fairing... It's pretty easy there is 4 bolts on each side and 4 smaller ones connected to the upper fairing (don't know how much for the other models) Once you take off the fairing there should be a quick release tab in the wiring going to the signals so unhook it and take the whole fairing off... That's the easiest way I've found to do it...

I did not remove my fairing , I took the turn signal section out and the clear alternatives popped right in .You'll notice a triangular shape to the fairing section that holds the turn signal in place .There are 3 screws on the backside which hold it in place .You can gain access by taking of the black upper fairing section ( on each side of the gas tank ) . Once you remove the black upper fairings , you should be able to get a stubby # 2 phillips screwdriver to them .Once the screws are reomved pop out the whole rectangualr section and pop in the clear alternatives , plug em in and ride like the wind . Does this make any sense ?

Yup, makes sense, and I appreciate the responses.

How many bolts hold the black upper fairing in? Where are they located?

one allen head screw , take the screw closest to the seat where the two sections join together . The black fairing section has two grommets which help hold it in place , one in the front ( faces forward ) and one in the back section ( pull up ) .Pop the back section loose by pulling straight up on it , once you do this the section will slide out towards the rear of the bike.I could only get two of the three screws to line up .I corrected this problem by drilling out the mounting holes on the turn signals .If you do this be careful and not get the holes to big or you'l have trouble getting them to stay in place . I just drilled mine enough to allow some flexabilty to get all 3 screws to be used .I am sure though the two that did line up would have been more than enough to hold them .

the two screws holding the black upper fairing in are # 6 allen screws , they look just like the windscreen screws .

I couldn't actually get it by just removing the black upper fairing, I had to remove the black inner lower fairing too. All that held that in place was two 8mm bolts each and a little plastic clip at the top. Once those were off, access to the two screws that held the turn signals on was easy.

And what a difference it makes! Best 80 bucks I ever spent.

thanks to everybody who helped out. this was my first bit of taking my bike apart, so i appreciate it, and it won't be my last either.
