If you get it from certain manufactuers I believe they are DOT approved.

 

Forgive the question as apposed to looking this up myself but would you happen to know who does have one that is DOT approved and comes with some paperwork stating such? That's really the only reason I haven't gotten one that and my buddy has one and I'm still not convinced you can really tell he is signalling to turn. We're all invisible enough not really looking for something even harder to see. Although I'll admit if it's DOT approved I can live with this since I don't plan on making lane changes where I rely on the person to see my blinker or not lol as we all have learned one time or another relying on someone else on the road ends bad no matter what lol
