How to tell what model???
Hello all!
I just bought a 1992 ninja 600 on fleabay! I got a great deal on it. But it does need new tires, battery, and some carb work. But I was wondering how does a person tell exactly what model they have. I have been reading on here that there is like 4 different mondels. Ex: e,c,d, ect....
Also, what the hell is the difference in each? And why the hell would they make so many models in one year?? Thanks for all your help!!!
Also this is exactly how the listing read: "1992 zx600r ninja." Is this correct?? ----I should also mention that I have not picked up the bike yet. I am going to pick it up in 2 weeks!

RE: How to tell what model???
you can tell its a "C" model because of how square it is. i have a 93 zx6 "D" model. in the pic it show more of a rounder set of fairings. that is what i was told. you can also tell in the vin number. the seventh number in the vin should tell you what model it is. hope this helps. and gotrice is right you should take it a shop to get it looked at if your not a bike mechanic.

Looks like it'll be a nice looking bike once you get her fixed up a bit! And cain is right, the VIN will let you know what model it is. You can do a search on the internet for VIN #'s you should be able to find some sites that explain what each section of the VIN means. Hope that helps!

or just take the vin to the stealership and have them run the last few numbers.... i think its normally the last 6 or 8 numbers.... and you could ask then what does the "C" means...
