Default Hope i made the right choice.

Hey guys I am new to the Kawasaki world and just traded a 1997 trans am that I didn't want in the first place for a 2007 ZX6R with 8100 miles. The bike has never been down as far as I can tell and seems to be maintained good. I had roughly $2500-$3000 invested in the trans am so I think I made out pretty good but I have no idea what these bikes are selling for now a days. I have been out of riding for a few years now and have missed it.

So here is a little about myself. I am 27 years old, I have 2 children and have been married for 5 years. I just moved from fort bragg NC to fort drum NY so obviously I am military. I have been riding for about 10 years but still consider myself a novice and learning. I purchased my first bike at 17 to my mothers dismay (a 1988 Honda F1 hurricane) since then I have owned a few bikes.

1988 Honda F1 hurricane 600 (first bike. It was a pos but I loved it)
2000 Honda F4 600 (first real sports bike)
2005 GSXR 600 (owned for 3 years and still miss it)
2000 GSXR 1000 (hated it and sold it after a week)
2005 GSX1300R (Great bike, Sold in 2010 right after my little girl was born)
2003 GSX1300R (Got a great deal on the bike but sold before moving north)
2007 ZX6R (traded for it today!!!)

I do have a few questions that I am hoping you guys can help me out with.

First off is what is this thing worth. I have not been tracking sport bike prices for a while.

Second thing is there are a bunch of stickers the old owner applied to the bike. Is there a safe way to remove them with out harming the paint.

And finally. The tank has a tank protector right above the seat that is some what offensive to my wife. Is there a safe way to remove and replace it.

Thanks for the help guys. I will be checking out some of the other post on the forum and look forward to talking with every one.

Welcome to KF and congrats on the new ride.

I would agree that this ride is best over the '97 trans am as well.

I hate stickers on a ride too. looks like a nice ride with low miles. What exhaust is on it?

Some bikes fit better than others. Congrats on the experiences.

The owner moded the stock exhaust. He had a aftermarket unit on it but claimed he hated the sound so he put the stock exhaust back on it but deleted the muffler and just welded the tips off the aftermarket muffler onto it. Its very loud as you may expect and very raspy.

I don't see a problem with the tank protector. Enjoy your new bike.

To be truthful I have a 3 year old girl and I don't want her seeing women portrayed in that manner. IMOP a flat black or carbon fiber piece would look better and look more natural on the flat black.

The bike also has one tooth down on the front sprocket and a speed healer.

After spending a little time on the forums and google today. It looks like a blow dryer and maybe some sort of solution will help remove the stickers and any thing stuck to the bike with adhesive. One thread I looked at said to use WD-40.

Nice bike, cb. 3M also makes an "adhesive remover." Can find at your local auto parts or hardware store; white rectangular metal can/red printing. Yes, heat gun works well, too; just not too hot, OK? Agree on the sticker removal....looks like a teenage noob bike with that crap on there. Less is more. A-hem.....that includes the noise level of your exhaust can. You don't want THAT kind of attention, especially from the law enforcement folks (and your neighbors.)
