HI, trying to figure out what year engine I have
#2
i couldn't find the "DE" anywhere in my haynes manual for my '95-'02 zx600 & 636, but i don't have any of the zx6 numbers in here. i did a quick search on the net without finding anything either. i found the "D" and the "E" but not together. weird, good luck. i would look at the touring 600's though, not the ZX6R's.

but i dont know if that is your complete vin
Where is the VIN located on my Kawasaki motorcycle, ATV, or MULEŽ?
The VIN begins with the prefix “JKA”, “JKB”, “JK1”, "JSA", or "LM4"
On all motorcycles it is stamped on the side of the steering head. On street-legal motorcycles, the VIN also appears on the Safety Certification Label affixed to, or near, the side of the steering head.
On ATV’s it is stamped on the lower frame tube, to the left of the engine.
On MULEŽ utility vehicles, look for a plate welded to the frame at or near the front of the vehicle.
On some MULE models, the VIN is located on the frame, just below the front of the seat.

Thanks for all your help. I don't know if I was clear or not, but that is the engine no., not the frame no. Do the engine numbers coincide with the VIN. Do you think a Kawasaki dealer would know?
I appreciate all the responses.
