Default Help with clutch/shifter

Hey guys - i have a big question. Recently I have noticed that whenever I slowly shift from First gear to Second gear - there would be grinding noise - also from 2nd to 3rd gear. But if i were to shift fast - no grinding noise. I have a 98 zx600e. The thing is that when i accidentally downshifted from 2nd to 1st - with the clutch still in - there was grinding noise too. Is this suppose to happen - cause I'm not sure downshifting from 2nd to 1st with the clutch still in would cause grinding noise - is my 2nd gear goign???? Thanks alot.

Have you tried hitting it with a hammer?

I would check the adjustments for piece of mind, but Kawis have always had loud trannys.

Adjust your drive chain and if it doesn't improve, your 2nd gear could be going out and they aren't meshing/ engaging fully. Check you engine oil for metal fragments, dustor shavings.

It would probably break it....I wouldn't try using a hammer. I'd leave that up to the dealers who know what they're doing.
